Pladis:Data Universe is an immersive installation, part of Refik Anadol Studio’s ongoing “Temporary Immersive Environment” experiments. As a commissioned artwork, Pladis used a public data set from NASA of the totality of the organizations’ history, research, and findings. Carefully considering those observations, this piece sought to articulate a holistic visualization of the celestial structures as captured by NASA’s countless expeditions. Within a simulated immersive environment, PLADIS offered a new way of experiencing spatial knowledge.
